While on patrol, an Isabella County sheriff’s deputy observed a black Lincoln passenger car traveling on Pickard Rd. at a very slow rate of speed, then sped up and then slowed down again. The car was also weaving while it was traveling eastbound on Pickard Rd. The car then came to a complete stop in the middle of the lane. The deputy activated the emergency lights and attempted a traffic stop. The driver then took off at a high rate of speed. The car did not stop or even slow down while going through the stop sign at Winn Rd. The vehicle was traveling erratically and passed several cars in a no passing zone. The driver then ended up losing control near Nottawa Rd., spun out, ran off the road and collided with a utility pole and then a tree. There was a power outage in the area as a result of the crash. None of the 4 individuals in the car received any injuries as a result of the crash.
The driver of the car stated she was trying to elude the police because of drugs being in the car.
The case remains under investigation by the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department.
