The Isabella County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an Accident and Illegal Entry

Date and Time:  September 9, 2015 at 6:55 a.m.

Location:  The accident occurred at the intersection of Carmen Drive and Siesta Lane, Village of Lake
Isabella, Sherman Township, Isabella County, Michigan. Illegal Entry occurred 1009 Siesta Lane.

Vehicle Involved: 2004 Mitsubishi Galant

Investigation Reveal: A 22 yr old male driver was North bound on Carmen Drive, failed to negotiate the curve and drove onto grassy area, striking a large oak tree with his vehicle. The vehicle then overturned. A neighbor smashed out the driver's window and the driver crawled out and began running South bound on Carmen Drive, at around 6:30 a.m.

The male driver then went to 1009 Siesta Lane and knocked on the door. When male answered, the suspect pushed the door open and went past the occupant and into the trailer. The suspect eventually left on his own out of the residence a short time after entering it. He then left on foot where he was found by Deputies on Queensway Drive.

The subject found walking matched the description of the driver who fled the scene and is the registered owner of the vehicle involved in the accident.

The suspect was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and operating while intoxicated and illegal entry. He was lodged at Isabella County Jail pending arraignment later today.

The accident remains under investigation by the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department.
