Isabella County Sheriff's Department is investigating a one-car fatal traffic crash

The Isabella County Sheriff’s Department responded to a one-car fatal traffic crash that occurred on N. Lincoln Rd., 2/10 mile north of River Rd.  It appears as though Andrew Hiveley was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix at a high rate of speed when the car veered to the left, ran off the roadway, flew over a ditch and rolled numerous times.  Mr. Hiveley was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was alone in the car at the time of the crash.   

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.  Mr. Hiveley was not wearing a seat belt.

Date and Time: Wednesday, June 24, 2015 sometime in the early morning hours.  It is believed the crash occurred sometime after midnight, but the car was not seen until 5:18 am.  The car was out in the field far enough where it could not be seen in the dark.

Location:  The crash occurred on N. Lincoln Rd., just north of River Rd., Union Township, Isabella County, Michigan

Vehicle Involved:  2005 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Andrew Joseph Hiveley, 24 years old from Mt. Pleasant, Michigan

Assisted By:  The Isabella County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Mt. Pleasant Fire Department, Central Dispatch and Mobile Medical Response (MMR).


The crash remains under investigation by the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department.
