Update - Subjects Identified
Both subjects have been arraigned in Isabella County Monday afternoon.
Driver of Vehicle: Joel Ad Jackson, 21 years old from Lansing, MI. Mr. Jackson has been arraigned and charged with:
1) Fleeing and Eluding
2) Reckless Driving
3) Delivery/Manufacturing Marijuana
4) Possession of Marijuana
5) Tampering with Evidence
6) Driving While License Suspended
His bond has been set at $30,000 cash/surety or 10%. He remains lodged in the Isabella County Jail.
Passenger:Octavais Johnson-Garza, 17 years old from Lansing, MI. Mr. Johnson-Garza has been arraigned and charged with:
1) Delivery/Manufacturing Marijuana
2) Possession of Marijuana
3) Tampering with Evidence
His bond has been set at $27,000 cash/surety or 10%. He remains lodged in the Isabella County Jail.

Date and Time of Incident: September 15, 2014 at 3:02 am.
Location of Incident: S. Mission St. and Bellows St., City of Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County.
Investigation Revealed: Mecosta County deputies had attempted to pull over a Pontiac G6 in Mecosta County because it had a headlight out. The vehicle failed to pull over and ended up fleeing and eluding deputies. Mecosta County notified Isabella County law enforcement agencies of the pursuit. Several hours later, Isabella County Sheriff’s deputies spotted the vehicle in the City of Mt. Pleasant (S. Mission St. and Bellows St.). The deputies, in addition to a Mt. Pleasant police officer attempted to pull the vehicle over by activating their emergency lights and sirens. Instead, the vehicle accelerated rapidly and ended up running a red light while heading southbound towards US 127. Once the driver was near Bluegrass Rd., he turned off the headlights and taillights on the car. He continued southbound at a high rate of speed. Deputies pursued the vehicle onto southbound US 127. Near the Shepherd exit, deputies observed several items being thrown out of the passenger side window. It was later determined that a hydroponic grow light, multiple marijuana plants and felt potting liners had been thrown out of the passenger side window.
The pursuit continued into Gratiot County, where a Gratiot County deputy was able to deploy stop sticks near the M-46 exit. The suspect failed to stop even though three of the four tires had been punctured. The suspect vehicle ended up getting off US 127 at the State Rd. exit, then went south onto State Rd. before finally stopping near Lincoln Rd.
A 21 year old from Lansing, MI was driving the vehicle. He was arrested for fleeing and
eluding, reckless driving, driving while license suspended, possession of marijuana and manufacturing marijuana.
A 17 year old from Lansing, MI was the passenger and he was arrested for possession of marijuana and manufacture of marijuana.
Both subjects are lodged in the Isabella County Jail and will most likely be formally arraigned later today. The driver may also face criminal charges in Mecosta and Gratiot Counties.
