Welcome to the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office website. As Sheriff for the County of Isabella, it is an honor and a pleasure to serve the citizens of the county. The Isabella County Sheriff’s Office continually strives to improve the services we offer, to be innovative and proactive in reducing crime and to strengthen our ties to the citizens we serve. I am very proud of our accomplishments and look forward to meeting the challenges of the future.

The Isabella County Sheriff’s Office recognizes its responsibility to maintain the public confidence and trust, and the need to ensure integrity and accountability both by the agency and by each employee.

The Public’s Responsibilities

As we recognize the rights of all citizens, the public should recognize that Sheriff’s Office employees must be able to exercise their best judgment in taking necessary and reasonable action in the performance of their duties without fear of reprisal.

Sheriff’s Office Policy

It is the policy of the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office to respond to compliments or complaints received from the public.

Complimentary letters are:

  • Reviewed by the employee’s first line supervisor,
  • Forwarded to the employee,
  • Placed in the employee’s personnel file and
  • Forwarded for possible inclusion in the Sheriff’s Office internal newsletter.

Complaint letters follow a very specific complaint procedure that:

  • Ensures fair and proper action is taken when an employee is accused of misconduct,
  • Protects employees from unwarranted or false accusations and
  • Helps identify and correct deficiencies in policies, procedures and/or training.
